Investigation of the Damping Performance of a Shape Memory Alloy Beam

The aim of this research is to introduce a semi-analytical approach for the analysis free and forced nonlinear vibrations bending shape memory alloy (SMA) beam; while, considering effect its pseudo-elastic behavior. In order create primary deflection, an appropriate pre-strain applied SMA beam using compression spring. A new material model was utilized simulate hysteric behavior beam, while differential equations motion were derived based on Euler–Bernoulli theory Hamilton principle. extracted partial are semi-analytically solved by utilizing Galerkin method. energy dissipation studied in vibration regimes. Finally, influences system parameters such as spring constant, amplitude, frequency excitation force absorber efficiency investigated, stability studied. numerical results depict that exhibits highly dynamical behavior, can be used actuator dissipation.
